Geometry Tool - Calc Hip Offset

This lesson describes how to calculate the Frame Offset along a hip rafter.

	1. Active Frame - Select the Hip Frame Line. 2. Member ID - Select a Hip Rafter ID. 3. Elem - Select a Rafter Side and press Insert. Creating a Line along the Roof / Purlin Line.
	4. Elem - Flange Outside and press Insert. Creating a Line along the Rafter Outside Flange
	5. Elem - Flange Outside. 6. Intersection Method - Perpendicular Line from End 1and press Insert. Creating a Line perpendicular to the Rafter Outside Flange. .
	7. Select 3 Lines - Using the Ctrl Button, select all 3 lines. 8. Intersect - Create points that intersects all 3 line using "Line to Line" and then click on “Intersect”.
	9. Intersection Points - Using the Ctrl Button, select the two points. The Length between the 2 points is displayed.
